About
The Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program (STOMP) was created by UCLA students who sought to ensure that four-year collegiate institutions remain accessible to students enrolled at California community colleges. There are three components of STOMP:
- The annual conference
- The outreach and mentorship program
- The student organization/club
Annual Conference
Each year, our dedicated student coordinators organize this conference to welcome prospective transfer students from California community colleges. This event offers participants valuable insight into the University of California transfer pathway, admissions process, and student experience.
Past conferences have featured:
- Sessions focused on admissions, resources, and student experiences
- Guided campus tours
- Admissions representatives from all undergraduate UC campuses
- UCLA programs and departments including the professional schools
Outreach and Mentorship
As an educational preparation program of UCLA Undergraduate Admission, STOMP provides outreach and mentorship services to prospective transfer students. Past events include STOMP Through the UC Application, which focuses on tips for filling out the UC application, and STOMP Through UCLA, which supports newly admitted transfer students with the transition to UCLA.

Become a Coordinator
Are you passionate about the transfer student community? Do you enjoy planning events and presenting?
STOMP Coordinators are employed by UCLA Undergraduate Admission. Their responsibilities include:
- Meeting with Undergraduate Admission supervisors for direction, guidance, and support with program operations
- Co-chairing the STOMP Club to grow the volunteer base and responsibly allocate the program budget each quarter
- Coordinating or participating in 2-4 outreach and mentorship activities each quarter, including hosting events, assisting Undergraduate Admission-sponsored efforts, and leading guided tours
- Planning and implementing the annual conference including logistics, funding, program development, and volunteer coordination
Our application for the STOMP Coordinator positions are currently closed. Please check back in for when applications open next Summer for the 2027-2028 academic year.
Student Organization/Club
As a service-based student organization registered with UCLA Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement (SOLE), the STOMP Club provides a space for enrolled UCLA students to engage with the transfer student community and give back through volunteering in outreach initiatives.

Nicholas Armendariz

Hi everyone! My name is Nicholas Armendariz, and I am a senior transfer student from East Los Angeles College, majoring in sociology and minoring in Education Studies with a pre-law emphasis.
I am beyond excited to be serving as a STOMP coordinator for a second year! As a STOMP Coordinator, my role is to foster a learning environment rooted in uplifting and supporting transfers and empowering communities.
As a proud transfer student myself, I understand the power of finding community and support. Building community through shared experiences is essential, and I look forward to contributing to the growth and success of our transfer student culture, which is exactly what STOMP is all about.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I am deeply passionate about sneaker culture and my small business focused on buying and reselling. What began as a personal interest has evolved into a meaningful entrepreneurial endeavor. Let me know if you want to learn more about that side of me because that is a strong passion of mine!
The transfer journey is often nontraditional and requires resilience, adaptability, and self-advocacy. Through STOMP, I aim to empower others by sharing resources, fostering meaningful connections, and celebrating the diverse paths that unite us at UCLA.

Hello! My name is Jaylene Saldivar, and I am a senior transfer student from Oxnard College, majoring in Psychology with an Education Minor.
I’m excited to be serving as a STOMP Coordinator this year! One of my biggest goals is to foster an inclusive, empowering space where prospective and incoming transfer students can feel supported and fully equipped to navigate their transfer journey.
Having navigated the transfer pathway myself, I know firsthand how support networks and peer guidance are essential for academic and personal growth. Through my background in peer mentorship and student outreach, I’m dedicated to connecting transfers with resources.
Outside my academics, you can usually find me discovering local coffee spots, hiking nice trails, and traveling whenever I get the chance
