The transition to UCLA will be smoother if you make thoughtful and timely decisions. This checklist will guide you through the process.

Step 1: Accept admission, apply for honors and housing [April-May]

Step 2: Plan for New Student Orientation, supply needed information [June-July]

Report changes in your academic record or mailing address as needed, before the end of your last pre-UCLA class
Request your I-20 to obtain your student visa [international students only, F-1 and J-1 visas] after you accept your offer of admission
Complete your Pre-Orientation Planner Survey [required to sign up for Orientation] before June 8, 2017
Sign up for New Student Orientation - signups begin: June 8, 2017
Apply for your BruinCard two weeks before you attend Orientation
Send us official transcripts through Spring 2017 July 1, 2017
Apply for parking July 21, 2017

Step 3. Attend New Student Orientation, enroll in classes [July-September]

Step 4. Prepare for classes [September-October]

Take the English as a Second Language Placement Exam [if required]

Pay tuition and other fees September 20, 2017
Enroll in or waive UC Student Health Insurance Plan [UC SHIP] September 20, 2017
Submit your immunization history through the Ashe Secure Portal September 25, 2017
Fall quarter classes begin September 28, 2017
Take the Transfer Student Survey [available July 1] September 30, 2017
Complete the online Mandatory Health Requirement October 1, 2017
