Why I chose UCLA: My dad went to UCLA and I grew up only 45 minutes away from this beautiful campus. Ever since I was a child, I went to Rose Bowl games and attended UCLA events. So one could say that UCLA was my dream school from day one. I was lucky enough to get in and the rest was history. The location, wide range of academics, premier athletic teams, and sense of Bruin pride are more than I could have dreamed of.

Why I chose UCLA: I visited UCLA after being admitted, not sure what to expect. The moment I stepped into Pauley Pavilion and then toured the rest of campus I fell in love with the spirit, pride, optimism, and support that you could just see from all the different students, staff, and faculty walking around on this beautiful campus. I knew that I would feel comfortable enough to grow and learn and have so many resources and opportunities to enhance my undergraduate experience. Go Bruins!

Why I chose UCLA: For most of my life, I had very little interest in UCLA. Being close to home in the traffic of Los Angeles wasn't exactly my cup of tea. However, after being convinced to go on a campus tour with my friend, I was shown a totally different side of the city and I started to think very highly of UCLA. After applying and being accepted, I was deciding between UCLA and several other major universities. Westwood felt like home right away on Bruin Day and I have been in love with the balance of UCLA ever since! I absolutely love UCLA even more than I ever dreamt I could, and I am forever grateful for all the opportunities I've been blessed with here, all because of just one tour! Go Bruins!

Why I chose UCLA: I chose UCLA because I wanted to experience a different atmosphere with a diverse student population but have the comfort of staying an hour away from home. It gave me the freedom to feel independent in one of the best cities in the world but also have the comfort of being close to my family. And of course, academics are also the reason I chose UCLA.

Why I chose UCLA: UCLA is obviously such an important school because of the academics, sports, and school pride but I ended up choosing UCLA because of the atmosphere. As an out-of-state student, I really needed an environment that would feel like home. When I came to Bruin Day after being admitted, I felt so welcomed and comfortable and knew that this was the school for me. Additionally, I wanted to explore California and Los Angeles and all the opportunities that are available to students in a big city.

Why I chose UCLA: When I was applying to colleges, I really had no idea where I wanted to go. As someone with broad interests, it was important to me that I attended a college that was well-rounded. Many colleges met this requirement, however, once I visited the UCLA campus for the first time in full form bustling with students, I knew in an instant that UCLA was the right place for me. UCLA's academic dominance coupled with its location in a global city were both key perks, but perhaps what was even more persuasive in my college search was the fact that students here at UCLA looked genuinely happy. Since that initial observation, I have found UCLA to be not only a hub for intellectual, leadership, and character growth, but also an irreplaceable home.

Why I chose UCLA: When it came down to choosing colleges, I wanted to be at a place that challenged me academically but more importantly a place I felt at home. College is so much more than learning in the class because you become like the people you surround yourself with. And the type of people I met when I visited UCLA (and continue to meet as a student here) were both kind and passionate about their majors or their jobs or UCLA in general. I knew immediately that this was the kind of person I wanted to be, and to be able to live in and learn in an atmosphere of collaboration and genuine kindness with some of the brightest students in the world has made me so proud to be a Bruin.

Why I chose UCLA: I never thought I was going to choose UCLA. I grew up a die-hard USC fan. However, when I got into UCLA, I was shocked, happy, and even shed a few tears. What made me choose UCLA was Bruin Day. I loved being on campus, seeing all of the opportunities available to student and absolutely loved the vibe, location, and weather! I felt so welcome and I loved the vibe! I SIRed to UCLA on the day after USC's Trojan Day. In addition, since I did not have sports in high school, I was stoked to go to football and basketball games. After 3 years, I am completely happy with my choice!

Why I chose UCLA: I chose UCLA because I wanted to grow and learn outside of my comfort zone. Moving far away from home has allowed me discover my strengths and work on my weaknesses and UCLA is such a welcoming environment to do so. When I visited UCLA for the first time, each student I talked to had so much pride for UCLA and that was very inspiring. I am proud to be able to say that I attend such a great school, not only because of the academics but also because of the sense of family that the community creates. I am proud to be a Bruin!

Why I chose UCLA: Attending UCLA has always been a dream of mine. So, when I decided to leave my former university I knew that I wanted to go to UCLA. UCLA appealed to me for so many reasons. I loved that I would be living in heart of Los Angeles. I loved the prospect of all the opportunities that would then naturally come with the school and location. And I absolutely, loved the beautiful campus. When I received my official admission notification, I was beyond excited. I visited campus on an admitted student visit and fell even harder for this university. At this point in my fourth year, I cannot even believe how fast time has passed. I feel so fortunate that I have had the chance to study at one of the most prestigious universities in the world and will be able to rep UCLA my entire life.

Why I chose UCLA: I chose UCLA because of the big, spirited, vibrant, passionate student body. When I came to visit UCLA, I felt the energy radiating from the campus. Walking around in the 70-degree weather, I knew that if I came to school here, every day would be filled with a happy environment. When I went home and was pondering what would be the right school for me, I had this feeling that UCLA was the place I wanted to be. To this day, I am constantly motivated by the motivated student body at UCLA and could not imagine myself on any other campus.

Why I chose UCLA: From day one, UCLA has always been my dream school. I always loved the idea of attending a university in California, especially in SoCal. I wanted to go to a new place where I would be challenged and learn from new experiences and cultures. Considering how many opportunities UCLA has to offer in academics and student life, I knew I would be in a positive environment that would help me prepare for a successful future. Most importantly, when I first stepped on campus for a tour on Bruin Day, I immediately fell in love with UCLA and made my decision because I knew I would be happy here.

Why I chose UCLA: I chose UCLA after taking an admitted students tour. Why I chose UCLA: I never really gave much thought into colleges until my last year of high school. Being a huge sports fan, I knew about UCLA's athletic history as well its prestigious academic reputation. However, once I started my research on colleges, I was really drawn in by the most important ranking of them all ... the dining halls. I felt that UCLA not only offered me great opportunities but also that the people here were happy with their lives and enjoyed every minute of the Westwood lifestyle. UCLA was great option for me being a well-rounded individual looking for the perfect balance of academics, athletics, social life, and a great location. From the moment I stepped foot on campus I knew this was the place for me and I have not looked back since.

Why I chose UCLA: Stepping onto the UCLA campus during Bruin Day was emblematic of the core ideals that the university holds: optimism, professionalism, compassion, and opportunity. On Bruin Day, I was able to catch a small glimpse of what my undergraduate journey at UCLA would hold. And I was sold. The incredible diversity - socioeconomically and racially - of students at UCLA ensured a holistic experience that would allow for both personal and professional growth. A rigorous academic curriculum combined with a prime location within the heart of Los Angeles offered me the unique opportunity to immerse myself in an environment that would help me maximize my educational potential both inside and outside of the classroom. And the booming sense of Bruin spirit throughout the campus guaranteed a vibrant and exciting college experience. My past year at UCLA has been spontaneous, engaging, and challenging and I am eagerly looking forward to the next three!

Why I chose UCLA: Throughout high school, my heart was set on UC Berkeley; I never really opened my mind to other schools. It was not until a UCLA representative came to my high school that I started to consider attending UCLA. UC Berkeley was thrown out the window the minute I stepped onto campus during Open House. The campus was just so beautiful and I felt right at home. To me, UCLA is the complete package. Not only are we a prestigious school, but UCLA students have immense school spirit. I could not imagine myself at any other school. Go Bruins!

Why I chose UCLA: I always wanted to see what LA was like and coming here for college seemed like an amazing idea! I wasn't sure what to expect other than amazing food and great weather but when I got to UCLA, I was sure I made the right choice. The curriculum is challenging but not overwhelming, the extracurriculars are diverse, and my peers are really helpful! I remember not being able to find a club that I liked so I started an initiative on my own in my first quarter and was pleasantly surprised at how easily the administration made it to do all that on my own. Everything started falling into place from there; opportunities at every corner and hard work that paid off. I've learned and grown so much here and I feel it has prepared me for life after college! Coming to UCLA has been one of the best decisions I've made yet.

Why I chose UCLA: I had wanted to go to UCLA since I was in 5th grade. From then on, I did everything in my ability to make sure I was ready to apply in high school. I would go on to the UCLA website all the time to take virtual tours. I finally came to visit the campus my sophomore year of high school. The online version could not compare to the beauty of UCLA in person. I continued to dream about the day that I would be able to call myself a Bruin. The summer before my senior year, I came to the Summer Art Institute, and any doubt that was left in my mind vanished. Although the doubt had left me, at times others would attempt to discourage me with their disbelief. I understood that if it was meant to be it would be, and it was.

Why I chose UCLA: I wanted to go to a school full of opportunity. And I always knew I would want to go to a big city. Now having fully integrated myself into the school community, I'm so glad I accepted because it's one of my favorite places on earth now.

Why I chose UCLA: UCLA changed my mind about going to an out-of-state school the moment I stepped on campus. I immediately knew I could fit in with the incredibly diverse student body because every single person had the drive to improve themselves and the world around them. In addition, because of its size and prestige, UCLA had the ability to offer me so many resources and opportunities that the other smaller schools could not. Coming from a USC family made becoming a Bruin even more special.

Why I chose UCLA: While growing up, I knew I always wanted to attend UCLA. Not only was I raised in Los Angeles, but my dad also attended UCLA as an undergraduate. Even before I knew what college was, my dad would tell me about his adventures as he watched the UCLA football team on television in his UCLA shirt and hat. While on the UCLA tour, I was able to picture myself studying in Powell, eating at BPlate, flyering on Bruin Walk for a club I am passionate about, and cheering the basketball team on in Pauley Pavilion. I felt at home at UCLA and all of the feelings I had of wanting to be a Bruin when I was younger came flowing back.

Why I chose UCLA: My ideal college throughout high school was a small, private university. I did not really consider the UC schools because they seemed very intimidating to me. When I got accepted to UCLA, my mom told me I had to visit campus before I declined admission. When I visited on Bruin Day, the UCLA campus immediately became home to me. I could not imagine going anywhere else besides UCLA because of the incredible opportunities and community here.

Why I chose UCLA: Growing up in Southern California, I always knew that I wanted to stay in-state for my college education. UCLA was the most attractive university to me because its entire theme and mission is built off the phrase "we are the optimists." I saw that UCLA was different because it not only gave students the resources, tools, and assistance in order to be successful, but it went way beyond that. UCLA students made it a mission to take the struggles they have faced and use them as motivators to achieve success. I see this in every student on UCLA and this constant wave of optimism made me choose UCLA.

Why I chose UCLA: During most of high school, I thought that I wanted to go to a small liberal arts school on the East Coast, but my mom actually made me apply to some UC schools. Why I chose UCLA: When I was in high school, I had no idea where I wanted to attend college. I had been entirely focused on attaining the right grades and test scores that I never even considered life after acceptance. But walking on the UCLA campus changed that for me. Touring the beautiful campus helped me imagine a life after high school. I could envision myself joining meaningful clubs, cheering loudly at basketball games and meeting lifelong friends in the dorms. With the prospect of attending UCLA, I was excited for the future and that is how I knew that this was the school for me.

Why I chose UCLA: I honestly did not start seriously thinking about where I would attend school until the end of my junior year in high school. I always knew I wanted to attend a school outside of Florida because I wanted to experience a new environment, but wanted to stay in a warmer climate. I applied to four schools: one in-state and three out-of-state. I ended up visiting UCLA during my senior year, which was actually the first college I ever toured and fell in love. The campus, location, food, people, the list goes on about what made me want to attend UCLA. I chose UCLA over the other schools I applied to because I knew I would be challenged in ways I never experienced before and would have access to the best resources, plus the prestige of the school would resonate after I graduate. I am in awe each day that I get to attend the #1 public university in the country!

Why I chose UCLA: My college decision period was filled with curveballs, and I only selected UCLA the night before May 1st. Because I was coming from a recently established high school, I really wanted to attend a university with an undeniable campus energy and an enormous amount of activities. I had faith that UCLA could deliver this (and WOW has it!), and that is what pushed me to become a Bruin. I love that what had begun as a half-hearted commitment to UCLA has become an authentic passion for a phenomenal university and the entire Bruin family.

It also did not hurt that it is sunny and 75 degrees year-round!
